New Kitties!

I picked up another set of foster kittens this past week. It’s pretty much the end of kitten season but when I went to visit Rusty at the shelter I asked and they just happened to have a couple. They are two little boys but I don’t have names picked out yet. Usually I wait until a name pops out at me, that really fits the kitten. Until then I’ve just been calling them “Littl’in”, which was also my grandpa’s nickname for me as a kid, and “Not So Little’in” The vet tech at LHS said that we’d probably only have to keep them for a few weeks but I am thinking it will be over a month. Littl’in probably weighs just barely over a pound and they have to be 2.5 pounds for their surgery.

It was my first weekend after the end of the semester and I tried to be as lazy as possible but I just don’t think it’s in my DNA. We spent yesterday afternoon tearing up the rest of the carpet in the basement along with all of the tack strips in preparation for the Pergo as well as getting everything ready to be painted.  I did get to have lots of fun though. We had our annual Christmas party on Friday and last night we went to a friends graduation party. I haven’t played Pictionary or stayed up until 4am for a long time!

*Engaged* Chelsea and Ben

I’ve known Ben for about three years now. We met in the fall of 2006 when we had our very first studio class together.  We’ve remained very good friends since then, bonding over critique deadlines, art and life.  I was very honored to be asked to take his and Chelsea’s engagement photos about a month ago. I haven’t had a chance to get to know Chelsea very well and I was happy to get to spend some time with them as a couple.

They claimed to be uncomfortable in front of the camera but I beg to differ, I thought they did an awesome job! I am looking very forward to attending their wedding in July at the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville. Congratulations to you both!

Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween this year! Heath and I always celebrate Halloween together with the rest of our friends at a big party. Thanks Andrea for hosting, again! Heath abandoned his Superman Dressed Up as Chuck Norris costume idea and instead dreamed up this super creepy sadistic clown costume. I am not a huge fan of totally hate clowns. They creep the hell out of me! Before he was even in costume Heath was walking around the house  making faces and laughing creepily. I told him to stop. No seriously. STOP!

Creepy Clown

After the costume I ordered off of eBay turned into an EPIC fail I only had a few days to whip together a safe costume choice of a child of the 80’s. Can you believe it? Hardly anyone carries crimpers anymore? Thankfully Sally’s does! Also, thanks to the movie Fame I had no problem procuring leg warmers and hand fish-netty things. The lime green/hot pink/orange Chucks I was wearing were already part of my collection!

Another highlight of the weekend was spending time with our good friends Dana and Travis and their new little one, Lucy! She was such a little sweetie! I can’t wait to get my camera on her when she moves back home in July!

Today I went with my friend Kelly to get her first tattoo!

Her tattoo is Hebrew meaning “to create” and, as all tattoos should be, is very personal and meaningful to her.

Artist: Jay Rush at Bleed Blue Tattoo. If you’re interested you can attend the 5th Annual Greater Kentucky Tattoo and Piercing Expo this weekend at the Kentucky Convention Center.

New Arrival!

Congratulations to my friends Dana and Travis on the arrival of their little girl Lucy! I can’t wait to meet her when you come home later this year!

Dana, Travis and Lucy!

Update:  Here is one of the first pics of Lucy! Doesn’t Dana look fantastic considering all that she just went through? She might give women who’ve never been through labor the wrong impression about the whole thing! Thanks to Travis for the pic.

Dana and LucyCongrats guys!

I’m just getting back from my wedding this afternoon. I have a TON of photos I need to edit but I thought I’d post this one of Kelly and I hammin’ it up before the ceremony.

Of course there will be more pics to come shortly. It will just take me a while to go through them all. But now, I am off to bed. Good night everyone!
